On June 15th, 2012 the eleventh meeting of the Russia-EU IP Dialogue took place in the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). Representatives of the European Commission DG Trade, Delegation of the European Union to Russia, Rospatent, Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, other federal executive authorities and business community took part in the meeting.
Both sides discussed the issues of amendments to Part IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, including amendments regarding the regulation of relations in the Internet, issues of IP regulation in the Customs Union and Common Economic Space between Russia, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan.
Within the discussion of the enforcement activities both sides exchanged the statistical information and information on measures taken in counteraction to piracy and production of infringing goods, including counterfeit pharmaceuticals, as well as on prevention of infringements in the Internet.
The Russian side informed on the progress of cooperation of Rospatent with the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) within the Russia-EU initiative “Partnership for Modernization”.
