On 27 October 2010 at 10:30, the representatives of the European Patent Office (EPO) together with their Russian partner, the Federal Service for Intellectual property, patents and trademarks (Rospatent), will present the experiences and achievements of their co-operation under the EU-funded project “Approximation of EU and Russian Federation Intellectual Property Right aspects”.
The project focused on examining the Russian patent legislation and harmonizing it with the European legislation, as well as developing guidelines to be used by the patent examiners at Rospatent. It was also aimed at streamlining aspects related to patent application, registration and processing and the teaching of intellectual property economics in Russia. Another achievement of the project is the review of the Russian system of granting supplementary protection for pharmaceuticals in the light of the current administrative and judicial practice in the EU.
This project that ran since mid September 2009 was implemented under the Common Spaces Facility which is intended to facilitate dialogue under the four EU-Russia Common Spaces.
The meeting is to take place on Wednesday, 27 October at 10:30 at EU Delegation’s premises (address: Kadashevskaya nab. 14/1 119017 Moscow).
