On October 27, 2010, within the framework of implementation of the Protocol
on Cooperation between the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents
and Trademarks (Rospatent) and the National Board of Patents and Registration of
Finland (NBPR), signed in Moscow on October 11, 2005, at the instance of the
Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce (FRCC), representing 1000 companies in
Finland and Russia a working meeting devoted to the discussion of intellectual
property legislation in the Russian Federation in the light of intellectual
property rights feasibilities of foreign companies was held at Rospatent.
During the working meeting Rospatent and FIPS specialists spoke on the
intellectual property objects, protected in the Russian Federation in accordance
with the Part IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, features of
patentability verification procedure, and obtaining a patent for an invention,
trademark registration in Russia, the application of the Madrid system,
trademark certificate acquisition order and corresponding fees. The legal
aspects of intellectual property rights protection in the Chamber of Patent
Disputes and measures of protection against the unfair competition were also
discussed.
Participants were familiarized with a list of services provided by FIPS
concerning inventions and trademarks.
